Money

One thing I Wish I learned earlier in life was the value of a dollar.  Whenever I received money at a young age I would spend it immediately.  As I grew up I started to realize money doesn’t come easy especially with bills, gas and other needs like that.  I think children should be taught the value of a dollar how important it is to save money for the future.

Responsibility

Learning responsibility at a young age through the guidance of 3C Youth Development Center helped me to take responsibility for my own actions and not look for a scapegoat for my own problems or situations. Responsibility was a life lesson that was not only taught , but it was rewarded at 3C Youth Development Center. I also learned other valuable life skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other life essential skills. I have to say without the help and guidance of 3C Youth Development Center, I would not be the well rounded successful adult I am today.

Suggested Learning

Some things that I believe would be good to learn at a younger age that I now know more about are realistic actions. For these I mean being able to understand credit, fiscal responsibility, and critical thinking. Some other things that would be helpful in my opinion would be learning key history lessons on World Wars, General fitness, and outdoor skills like fishing, fires and signaling.

Humility

One virtue I wish I would have had when I was younger is humility. In my Youth, I was very arrogant and that caused my to learn lessons the hard way. If I had learned to be humble at a younger age. I would have been able to learn much more from elders that were trying to teach me from their past experiences. I was too sure of myself and my ideas to concede and benefit from their knowledge. I am now older and realize how much I don't know.
